TWELFTH SUNDAY OF THE YEAR YB

Jesus says to the disciples ‘Let us cross over to the other side’ … we pray that the Church will always have the courage to take the Gospel to the uncomfortable places and challenging issues of today’s world, and be a truly missionary community: we pray that Pope’s Francis’s Encyclical Letter on the Environment will call forth decisive action from world leaders and all of us to ‘care for our Common Home’ – the Earth

                               [Response]                May the Love of Christ overwhelm us…

Jesus rebuked the wind and calmed the sea … we pray for our world with so many storms of violence, war and instability, that leaders everywhere will serve peace with true justice … we pray especially for the people of Mali, Birkino Faso, Myanmar and the Cameroon and wherever the will of the people is not heeded

St Paul writes ‘The Love of Christ overwhelms us’ … that our children soon to meet Jesus in their First Eucharist and our child catechumens preparing for Baptism may know the overwhelming love Jesus has for them and for each one of us – and grow in faith

                               [Response]                May the Love of Christ overwhelm us…

‘The reason he dies for all was so that we should live no longer for ourselves’ says St Paul today … we pray for those couples getting married this summer; we pray too for all men and women to be ordained to ministry in the Christian Church of many traditions at this time – may they all share the generosity of Christ the Servant and the courage of Christ the Prophet

                               [Response]                May the Love of Christ overwhelm us…

St Paul writes, ‘The old creation has gone and the new one is here!’ We pray that as we re-build our parish community after Covid, we will grow together in new ways to build a more  just and equal society that reaches out to the poor and broken serving God’s New Creation

                               [READER]                  LORD WE PRAY…
                               [Response]                May the Love of Christ overwhelm us…

Jesus says, ‘Be calm! Why are you so frightened?’ We pray healing and freedom for the sick of our community, especially …. ;
for those who have died recently especially ….  and who have died of Covid around the world
for all whose anniversaries are at this time, in particular ….

                               [Response]                May the Love of Christ overwhelm us…

Mary and Joseph, pray with us for all fathers on this Father’s Day that they be life-giving, affirming and caring for their children…

                                                                       HAIL MARY…

Let us pray in the silence for other needs…
