RESPONSE:     I AM!

ARE YOU RESOLVED TO GROW IN A DEEPER LOVE FOR THE CHRIST WE RECOGNISE IN THE BREAKING OF BREAD,  AND TO ADMINISTER THE HOLY EUCHARIST WITH REVERENCE, CARE, AND PRAYERFUL LOVE?

RESPONSE:     I AM WITH THE HELP OF GOD AND MY COMMUNITY!

Chair of Parish Council: Let those who are to be recommissioned as Lay Ministers of the Eucharist,  come forward and re-dedicate yourselves to the service of our parish family …

The Priest now addresses those to be recommissioned for a further period of service as Lay Ministers, and asks them:

ARE YOU RESOLVED TO CONTINUE SERVING YOUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN THE OFFICE OF GIVING THE BODY AND BLOOD OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST TO YOUR COMMUNITY, AND SO BUILD UP THE CHURCH IN THE POWER OF HIS LOVE?

The Priest now turns to the Parish Community,  and asks them to affirm their brothers and sisters in this ministry of service:

ARE YOU WILLING TO RECOGNISE CHRIST IN YOUR SISTERS AND BROTHERS HERE,  TO REVERENCE AND LOVE HIM IN ONE ANOTHER,  AND SO BECOME THE LIVING BODY OF CHRIST, BREAD IN GOD’S HANDS TO BE BROKEN AND GIVEN FOR THE LIFE OF OUR WORLD?

ALL:     WE ARE!

ARE YOU WILLING TO ACCEPT AND AFFIRM THE HUMBLE MINISTRY OF THESE APPOINTED LAY MINISTERS OF THE EUCHARIST, JOYFULLY WELCOMING YOUR LORD AND BROTHER FROM THEIR HANDS, AND ENCOURAGING THEM WITH YOUR PRAYER AND FRIENDSHIP?

ALL:     WE ARE!
