Fifth Sunday of Easter Year C

Jesus says, ‘Now the Son of Man is glorified’ … may the Church in every land and of every tradition glorify Jesus by the love we bear for one another and the unity we seek
[Reader]            LORD WE PRAY…
[Response]      Send us in Your Love…

‘I saw a new heaven and a new earth’, writes St John … may our love create justice, struggle for peace and heal our wounded history wherever violence, war and conflict has scarred our humanity – we pray especially for Syria and Yemen, for the Ukraine, for the conflict-torn parts of Africa

LORD WE PRAY…

Jesus urges us, ‘By this love you have for one another will everyone know you are my disciples’ …  may our relationships be deepened, all divisions healed, and may we encourage each other in our gifts and uniqueness so that the power of our love might witness to the Risen Christ

LORD WE PRAY…

‘The world of the past is gone and I am making all things new’ writes St John … We pray that all peoples and the leaders of nations and business may recognise the threats to our beautiful planet and act decisively to end global warming and bring healing to the earth and justice to the poor who will suffer most form climate change

LORD WE PRAY…

‘Paul and Barnabas put fresh heart into the disciples’ as the Acts of the Apostles tell us … may we value and offer the ministry of encouragement to each other, and especially to our young people; and we pray especially for  all men and women preparing for Ordination to ministry in the Church of God

LORD WE PRAY…

‘He will wipe away all tears from their eyes’: we pray for the sick, the housebound, the lonely and the depressed; in particular we pray for ….
‘There will be no more death’ … for all who have died recently, especially …. and all who have perished in war, famine and on the refugee journey, that they will experience Resurrection New Life and Freedom
and for those whose anniversaries are at this time: ….

LORD WE PRAY…

Let us ask Mary, Mother of the Risen Christ, to teach us to love with the heart of Christ
                                                                         HAIL MARY…

Let us pray in silence for other needs…
